Transdimension ranked number 32 fastest growing technology company in North America on the 2005 Deloitte Technology Fast 500
Strong Revenue Growth Attributed to Comprehensive USB Connectivity Solutions and Global Customer Base
Irvine, Calif., October 24, 2005 - TransDimension today announced that it ranked number 32 on the 2005 Deloitte Technology Fast 500, a ranking of the 500 fastest growing technology companies in North America. Rankings are based on percentage revenue growth over five years, from 2000-2004.
This accomplishment follows the company's recent announcement that it has been acquired by Oxford Semiconductor based in Milpitas, Calif. According to William Mackenzie, Oxford Semiconductor chief executive officer, "TransDimension's impressive growth can be attributed to the company's team, its comprehensive product line and a global customer base that is leveraging USB technology for innovative consumer electronics devices. TransDimension's USB technology and its customer affiliations are a great fit with Oxford's and will enable the new Oxford Semiconductor to be a global leader in complete connectivity solutions."
In addition to ranking on Deloitte's Technology Fast 500, TransDimension ranked number two on the Orange County Technology Fast 50 list, which is a ranking of the 50 fastest growing technology companies in Orange County, California. This is the third consecutive year that TransDimension has ranked in the Deloitte Technology Fast 50.
TransDimension's solutions provide direct connectivity for a wide range of PC peripheral, consumer and mobile devices that until now have required an indirect means, such as a PC host, to exchange data. These embedded applications include cellular phones, mobile media players, set top boxes and MP3 players, to name a few.
A market leader in interface bridging ICs and FireWire based external storage solutions, Oxford Semiconductor's acquisition of TransDimension places the company in a position of technology leadership as the preeminent supplier of complete FireWire and USB-based connectivity solutions for the rapidly growing consumer electronics, storage, audio and add-on card markets. The acquisition also enhances the new company's prospects for the successful participation in wireless USB, projected to be widely utilized in many future consumer, storage and PC peripheral applications.
"Making the Deloitte Technology Fast 500 is commendable in today's highly competitive technology industry," said Tony Kern, deputy national managing principle of Deloitte's Technology, Media & Telecommunications industry practice. "We commend TransDimension on being one of the 500 fastest growing technology companies in North America ."
To qualify for the Technology Fast 500, companies must have had operating revenues of at least $50,000 in 2000 and $1,000,000 in 2004, must be public or private companies headquartered in North America, and be a "technology company," defined as a company that owns proprietary technology that contributes to a significant portion of the company's operating revenues, or devotes a significant portion of revenues to the research and development of technology. Using other companies' technology in a unique way does not qualify.
